I'm not sure what your taste is like, but this book (and in fact this entire series) is very dystopian - it's a very interesting and well-written twisted fairy tale, and it's the kind of book you'll come back to and reread!
I know I read Cinder when I was about 12-13 ish too and I loved it! And the series just gets better and better with every book! I highly suggest it to fans of dystopia and fantasy, and I'd highly recommend this to everyone :) (less)
