Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Warren R. Johnson My most recent book is "Free Campsites (with Restrooms) Western USA". I had a dream to get out on the roads and travel. I began this book trying to compile a list of free campsites in the West that would suit my needs. I didn’t know how I would travel (truck, van or RV), so I sought sites that had a restroom (pit, vault, or flush). This book, then, is intended for any mode of camping.

I figured 300 sites would be enough. After bypassing 300, it occurred to me that I could keep going and turn this into a travel guide. I ended with 2400 sites, drawing upon numerous resources including websites, Internet searches, books, and magazines. My intention is to keep developing this book with periodic updates.
