Just finished the series! One thing that bothered me, though. At the beginning of Theft of Swords, we learn Riyria has been together 12 years. Fast forward to Rise of Empire, even further to Heir of Novron, and we still hear both Royce and Hadrian say they’ve been together 12 years, when we can tell that several years have passed in each volume. For continuity’s sake, shouldn’t this be 15-16 years by the end of HoN?

I think the confusion comes in a "bad blurb" - I "think" the only mention of them being together for 12 years was in the marketing copy on the back of the book. I don't remember there is any reference in the book Theft of Swords indicating how long they've been together. Now their time togehter WAS mentioned in Rise of Empire - and, yes, in that book it's 12 years, and since that happens 2 years after Theft of Swords, that means the marketing copy is wrong.

Hi Michael! I was wondering what are your thoughts on the idea of a Riyria animated series? Animation has developed so much as a form of storytelling since shows like Avatar the Last Airbender, Steven Universe, Castlevania, etc. Even though I can totally see Riyria play out as a live-action series, it would be so fun to see in animation! Have you ever considered pitching it for an animated adaptation as well?

Hi Michael! So far I've read the first half of Legends of the First Empire, and your short story from Unfettered (such a great short). I have a question about Gifford, the character with the speech impediment. Did you write him imagining him speaking like Isaac Arthur, or more like Jonathon Ross?
