Goodreads asked Donald Furrow-Scott:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Donald Furrow-Scott You don't have to know everything before beginning. It's ok to learn along the way. Let's say that writing a book is a journey across the country. If you are comfortable hitch-hiking, put on the backpack. If flying and confirmed hotel reservations are the only way you can be comfortable, then plan and work out how to afford the airfare & bookings.
There are many exercises, workouts, and tricks that can help at different times along the way. Gather them up! Keep them in your writer's toolbox! But keep them in perspective and timely. Delaying your departure because you don't have proper shoes is probably a sage move. Delaying your departure from the East Coast because you first want to learn mule riding for the Grand Canyon portion of the trip will likely mean you never get started.
