David Wong If you mean that spending too much time reading self-help tips rather than putting them into practice can be counterproductive, sure. Especially if you're someone who is a "nerd" in the sense that you enjoy reading and learning about trivia. Reading about various "life hacks" and productivity tips and new diets can become a hobby that actually has nothing to do with fixing your own life in any way. Kind of like how some people follow politics purely for entertainment, but then don't vote or donate to candidates.
