Not so much a question, but I want you to know I read Before We Were Yours. This was my first novel of yours and I am hooked! This book was very haunting and one I choice to read in my book club. It created a lot of discussion. A great book I highly recommend to anyone! what would you suggest I read of yours next?

Lisa Wingate So glad you and the club enjoyed Before We Were Yours. Many of my long-time readers suggest reading Tending Roses, my first novel. It has my own grandmother's stories in it. There are 4 associated books, not really a series, but related through the setting and characters. Totally separate stories though. Another good choice is the first of the Carolina Chronicles-- The Prayer Box. My non-fiction of the true life stories of Georgia Tann adoptees is already listed for preorders and comes out in October. You and the club might want to consider "Before and After".

"Before We Were Yours" was SO captivating, I looked forward to the next possible evening's reading!! I read more slowly as a seasoned adult, savoring every detail, but there was one character whose outcome escaped me: the one closeted? I'm not one to read books that leave me wishing I'd never known. Hi Lisa, I truly enjoyed your book, though it was hard to read about the atrocities of children being abducted by the Tennessee Children's Home Society. Which sister was Avery's grandmother? It got a little confusing keeping the given names at birth and the changed names when abducted. I can't wait to read more of your books! Thank you! Lodina
