Eleanor Oriphat is completely fine. It's hilarious and contemporary. Takes place in Scotland, but main character is English. Very Cute.

One Day In December
Laura
Attachments by Rainbow Rowell is similar and really, really good. Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine is also a good one, set in Scotland. Kind of similar in ways and a cute story.
Well of Lost Books
Have you read The Switch by the same author? It is even more delightful than The Flat Share! Highly recommended.

I would highly recommend anything by Mhairi McFarlane! (my personal fav is It's Not Me, It's You) She writes hilarious and completely delightful romances

The Rosie Project is great. About a guy with a list of questions to find the perfect girlfriend.
Nora Alexander
I gave Evvie Drake Starts Over 5🌟

Matchmaking for Beginners by Maddie Dawson. It's set in New York and completely charming.
I'm also reading 44 Scotland Road by Alexander McCall Smith. It's set in Edinborough. It has a cast of great characters who have made me laugh out loud several times.

The Flatshare kind of reminds me of The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella. It's a bit madcap comedy, a bit dramatic, and pretty cute, overall.
Enchanted Prose
In Five Years by Rebecca Searle. Also, some of Christina Lauren’s novels.
Katie
Me before you by Jojo Moyes is good. I read this book after it was suggested since I’d read me before you.
Hattie
Katherine Center has a few you’d like. Things You Save in a Fire comes to mind.

Great question I was gonna ask the same thing:-)
The dress shop of dreams by Menna Van Praag- its a British rom com with a tad bit of heavy but definitely a light hearted romance.
The readers of Broken wheel recommend by Katharina Bivald- its a switish/ american rom com that was really wonderful to read. The author is switish and the book was translated into English but that doesn't really effect the flow at all.
I hope this helps and that if you decide to pick one up that you enjoy!:-)

Conversations with Friends by Sally Rooney. It is not a "light" read. But it definitely has substance and a good story. Realistic take on the complexity of relationships. (It's not depressing or anything; it's just pretty serious about the theme.)
Sarah Nelson
Star-Crossed, by Minnie Darke was so cute!

Hey!
Try "our stop" by Laura Jane Williams.
I discoverd it because the audiobook was also narrated by Carrie Hope Fletcher. It got the same feel to it and they are both brilliant.

Hi! If you're still looking for something, I'd highly recommend The Thursday Murder Club. It has that beautiful British writing, with some romances in the story and plot while being absolutely funny.

People We Meet On Vacation and Beach Read by Emily Henry,
Red White and Royal Blue and One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston.
Will read the Switch soon and plan on picking up the Kiss quotient, Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating and the Unhoneymooners next to see if I like it and then maybe more by these authors :)

I too like British writing and enjoyed Mr. Maybe by Jane Green who is a British-born American writer. It's a masterpiece! the storytelling was engrossing, the characters relatable and the plot riveting. Do check this book out and if you do let me know what you think of it!

I think you will love How Not to Die Alone if you loved this book!
Bettina
Maybe you try "Lucy in the sky" which was the first book of Paige Toon. I also recommend her other books or maybe you try Samantha Young with "As dust dances" or "Down London road".
Janet Melvin
Have you read How To Find Love in a Bookshop by Veronica Henry? Quirky and heartwarming.
Georgette
I stumbled on this book after reading One Day in December-- a bit more dramatic but definitely in the same vibe
Trudy Bodwell
I would recommend Jill Mansell, Jenny Colgan, Sarah Mason, and Lucy Dillon. They are some of my favorite British writers.
Aurelia
Look into Ellie and the Harpmaker by Hazel Prior
Julie
One Day In December and The Cactus are two that come to mind. I'd also take a look at Christina Lauren for some books with fun dialogue. Definitely not British, but Evie Drake Takes a Walk would be another one I'd add to the list.
Katie Johnson
Jill Mansell is British Contempory. Like a Rom-com in book form. I'd start with "The One You Really Want"
Emily
You, Me, Everything by Catherine Isaac, which is British, and The Break by Marian Keyes, which is Irish, would be my suggestions. Both a lot of fun, and I loved The Flatshare too!
Martha
I love Can you Keep a Secret? by Sophie Kinsella and Be Careful What You Wish For by Alexandra Potter and I think they have a similar vibe. :)
