My current projects include a biography of Christopher Hamilton Tebault, a Confederate surgeon who was forced to use creativity in treating the sick and wounded due to the paucity of medical supplies. Following the war he served as Surgeon General of the United Confederate Veterans and used that position to collect and consolidate the history of Confederate medicine, advocate for Confederate veterans, and contribute to Confederate literature. He also became actively involved in local politics, participating in the “Battle of Liberty Place” in New Orleans on September 14, 1874; fighting the exorbitant taxes imposed on southern states during the Reconstruction period; and supporting efforts to establish pensions and relief for Confederate veterans.
A second project is a book on entrepreneurship based on 35 years of experience in medical device companies, much of that time in start-up companies.
