Goodreads asked Ashlyn Mathews:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Ashlyn Mathews My advice is to write, write, write. Write what you love. Write what brings out the hidden emotions inside you. Don't strive to be perfect or conform a written work to what the "latest" is. Perfection and conforming can stifle creativity. Listen to your body. Writing can take a physical and emotional toll on the body. Take a break. Move around. Live the real life. That is how ideas form to later be transcribed into YOUR story.
