Goodreads asked Grace A. Johnson:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Grace A. Johnson When I find myself with writer's block, which is actually quite often, I normally take a break from what I'm working on and focus on something else. Sometimes that's the "outside world" or another manuscript. When I finally decide to return to my work-in-progress, I'll read over what I've already written and get back into the story and my love for the characters. Only then will the words begin to flow again. Writer's block is something every writer deals with from time to time. Some handle it differently than others. Sometimes it last longer, for months at a time. But if you're willing to put your whole heart into something, you'll be able to work past the hardships. In fact, that's how it is with all good things in life. No one said it would be easy, but if you work hard at it, you can do it.
