While he doesn't have much practice at it I was just wondering, is Erick actually bad at necromancy? I just finished reading dragon hunters and Erick just whipped up four soulstones on the spot that a highly trained wizard with years of study on the subject says are so advanced they break the laws of magic. Is it just another case of his skewed self image of himself?
Garon Whited
Partly. Any wizard encountering Eric is going to agree he's an expert on certain things--Mary made note of it in regard to gates, for example. When he says he's "bad at necromancy," he means *he* doesn't feel he's good at it. He's like a very strong man who says he isn't a weightlifter. True, he can haul big weights, but he's not a professional. As far as most people are concerned, they're convinced he's a weightlifter.
As for Y'vin's observations, remember how everyone treats necromancy on the shard-worlds. It's naughty. He understands what *he* thinks are the basics, but they're *very* basic. Eric is using Einsteinian math while Y'vin is still using Newtonian.

Garon Whited:
Why doesn't Eric carry around a gemstone like the one he used for the four heroes in Dragon Hunters? He could carry a small gem with a micro-gate linked to a larger gem with Diogenes. Enchant the gem to absorb his soul if he dies a mortal death and give it the same projection abilities the 4 heroes had. Then he could just work with Diogenes to transfer his soul into a clone body and presto instant resurrection right?

About you brief collaborate with Mark Tufo, are you able to use any of his characters? If you can, can we please get Erik to meet Trip. As a normal guy who can freely enter and live in the minds of any of his alternate reality selves, see the future, and being trapped in a predestination loop of his own making, all while being so stoned he can't see straight, don't you think Trip would make a great foil for Erik?

When will we get to see Erick play with things like bags of holding? They seem like such a staple in the genre but he hasn't touched on them yet. Maybe he could come up with a big blue box that is bigger on the inside and is enchanted to open up portals and move through them?
