John Decarteret asked Michael J. Sullivan:

Hey Michael! I have seen a new book title "Drumindor" is it finished and coming out soon? that is so exciting! of course "Age of Legend" is coming out so I have that to look forward to. I also wanted to say thanks! for what must be the tenth time, I have got my short story called "A House Out of Time" published and I do not imagine that would have happened without you taking the time to give me some golden advice.

Michael J. Sullivan Hey John. So, this is how we handle Riyria Chronicle books. I don't want Royce and Hadrian to overstay their welcome so I have no idea how many books will be written. My modus operandi is to release a book, keep my ear to the ground, and if it looks like people want more then I'm more than happy to revisit with my two favorite rogues.

So, we've done our analysis post The Disappearance of Winter's Daughter so I do know there WILL BE a 5th Chronicle, and you are correct it is entitled Drumindor. I have written the outline but I've not started writing it yet. This in my current writing plan.

The last three books of the Legends of the First Empire ended up being different than I usually do. That "second-half" trilogy turned out to be one long story broken up into three acts. Because of this, they are some cliff hanger endings (something I don't like but were necessary) for book #4 and #5. To make "the wait" as small as possible, I'm releasing all three of those books within a 10 month span (Age of Legend - July 2019, Age of Death Feb 2020, Age of Empyre May 2020). Legend is already out, Age of Death is finished and going on the press any day now, and I'm going to be finishing up the last round of edits for Empyre before the end of the year. I'm also 1/2 way through my next series (Rise and Fall), and I hope to have the first draft of that done by mid 2020. That means I can start writing Drumindor around the fall of next year and it will probably be released inbetween book #1 and #2 of The Rise and the Fall.

Whew, that was a long answer to a short question. In other news, I'm thriled that your short story was published - congratulations. And I'm glad my advice was helpful.
