Roberta What about the book Racing in the Rain instead? This version is more "family friendly" and is minus the the girl making sexual advances, if that's the scene you're talking about.

Cathy It does have one scene with a young girl that may not be appropriate for a 13 year old but the overall read is something a 13 year old boy would enjoy.
