I guess the short answer is, not well.
I have a problem finishing things I have started and getting writers block often makes me start something else. Which is why I currently have several novels under construction at once.
I have had some success recently after changing my style of writing and opting for a nonlinear process. I'll have several plot points that I have solid ideas for so I will write them then begin filling in the gaps between them, 'fleshing' the story out.
If that fails, there's always another half written novel I can go back to. Getting a block on one sometimes leads to breaking a block on another.
