Re the ending - did you think it was always their intention (Henry, her son's, her brother's) to leave her on the island? I can't imagine a scenario where they'd have lived happily ever after even if she hadn't killed her brother?

Stunning book but I would have added at the very end, as she was abandoned on the island, that she could "see" her Dad in the ruins of their old family house and he would hold her again! Weird I know but I was struck by the relationship between the two.(less)
