Why do struggle to finish this novel? This is the third time I have stalled out more than half way through. I just can't seem to care about this family...tell me: should I tough it out?

I still get goosebumps just re-reading it, but I don't think this book is for everyone (my mother never managed to finish it either). And about the latin american thing... Nope. I am Spanish, all the culture he talks about sounds completely strange to me, and I still love it.(less)
