So Forkle said that the parents didn't and couldn't know who the other was. So my theory is that Forkle 1 knew the mother, and Forkle 2 knew the dad, (the dad was Forkle 2). This could have been the only secret they did not share. So if Forkle 1 died, then the secret of Sophie's mother died with him. If Forkle 2 died, then Sophie lost her father. Also, Forkle explained that Sophie's parents were somebody she didn't know, so she wouldn't have known there were two Forkle's, therefore, she wouldn't have exactly known which Forkle was actually her dad.

My theory on who survived: Forkle 2 is who I think survived because of when Sophie found out that Forkle wasn't all dead, Forkle told her he would give her one memory that it was him and not his twin. The memory was Forkle giving Sophie her shot that made a star on her hand. At that time, Forkle had told Sophie that he would never want to hurt her because he thought of her like his own daughter.

Why it would be earth shattering: To Sophie. because (especially now) she trusts Forkle until he keeps showing up with all these secrets, and I feel like the revelation to her would just create an explosion of emotions. I feel like such an explosion as that would be bad with all her abilities. Forkle has always known about her abilities, so I know (if this is the case) he would have known what could happen if she found out. Also, I feel like there's something else to it, with all his messing with her DNA, I think he knew that there was trouble in his actions. So the DNA being altered might have affected it so that she would be in danger of knowing her biological parents with mixed DNA and so many families raising her.

I also think that her mom is nobody that we know. I think this because Forkle explained that the parents didn't know each other, so I'm assuming that most of the people we know about, Forkle knew at one point or other. Also because he said that Sophie didn't know her. Everyone that Forkle didn't know (of whom we know about) I'm assuming Sophie knew.(less)
