Verity:
Thoughts on the ending?

This answer contains spoilers…
(view spoiler)[Okay, so I read a lot of answers below there and just like every other coho's book, this book also has two sides of audience. One who believe that manuscripts are real and the letter was just a last effort made by Verity to trap Lowen in guilt for an entire lifetime. The other side says that letter was real. Till few minutes ago, I was convinced that the manuscripts are real as it was too hard to agree on everything that was written in the letter. The way that letter turned the whole situation upside down, it was quite confusing to figure out. To get to know everything in detail, just read this answer till the end, you’re not gonna regret it.
But little did everyone know that this book also contains a bonus chapter. Yeah, this chapter is about Lowen and Jeremy living together with Crew and their three months old daughter whose name is Nova. In the chapter, we see a much clear side of Lowen being competitive, jealous and insecure of Verity as well as obsessed with Jeremy. This side was not shown completely in the whole book but those little glimpses were always there. The way, she bites the headboard in order to live the pleasure, the way she wants Jeremy to make the first move to her, the way she admits that she has a crush on him, her reading the manuscripts to know more about Jeremy sexually, it all made sense in this chapter. She was not in love with Jeremy the human, but the one Verity explained so finely in her manuscript. It will be a lie if I’ll say that this thought never crossed my mind that Lowen is too obsessed with Jeremy. Not as obsessed as Verity but yeah, obsessed. She wanted to make him forget everything about Verity. Taking care of Nova in a way how Verity explained that she never did so that she can make Jeremy feel that she is a better mother and better wife than her was quite obvious.
But the main spark of this chapter was Jeremy. I never expected that this will be a last-minute change that will change my perspective like I never had it. They all went to a beach for a casual family hangout where they encountered with Patricia, Verity's friend whom they met in the grocery store. She met Crew, then Lowen, noticed Nova and then eventually Jeremy too. By her expressions, it was clear that she was able to calculate that now they are married. Jeremy and Lowen saw this as a red signal. They both grew panic. As soon as Patricia leaves, Jeremy asks Lowen to take kids to the car. she does as she's told but when she looks back, she sees Jeremy murdering Patricia. He choked her and made it look like she drowned. They returned home back and tried their best to pretend like nothing happened at all. But this time, Lowen was completely changed. She was terrified of Jeremy who was more like a murderer of two women he saw as danger. She felt scared that if he'll feel any kind of danger of her in future, she can be his third. At the same time, she was trying to convince herself that he did it to protect his family. She was a complete mess. Ater some time, she went to check upon Nova who was surprisingly not in her crib. She called Jeremy and they asked Crew to which he responded that she was crying and that was disturbing him from watching television. So, he put her outside of the home. When they ran and checked outside, gratefully she was there only crying her lungs out.
After this, Lowen's mess worsened. She thinks of everything that happened. Her husband is a killer of two women of whom he sensed as danger. The six-year-old kid is mentally traumatized, at a level that he scares her. And Lowen herself who is completely tangled in this whole web.
This chapter ignites a new path of end that there's a chance that Verity's letter was right. That Jeremy tried to kill her and all she wanted was her son and money so she can escape this house. It confused me when Jeremy was so normal with Verity's death, unlike Lowen. Like he wanted to do it from so long and was just waiting for the right moment.
It can be a possibility that he just wanted someone by his side so he kept those manuscripts so visible that it was obvious of Lowen finding them and then reading it.
In the end, this book depends on the reader more than the author for the conclusion. This book gives a superiority to the reader to make the end as they want. For me particularly, all the characters in the book had a dark side. A side which they never showed. Except Verity, who was picturized wrong in the whole book but as we reached the end, the truth was in front of us. Again, Verity means truth. Lowen was obsessed with Jeremy and wanted to just take place of Verity. She wanted to feel loved and craved just like Verity explained. She wanted a man who was not only married but was also a father.
On the other side, Jeremy committed a crime and pretended that it was for everyone's good. He was a criminal but so gentle that no one ever thought of him in such a way. The time he took in the last chapters to read the manuscript was too short. It meant that he already has read everything and just tried to act like he didn't when Lowen handed it to him. It was all a plan.
All in all, it's you who is going to decide the end of this book. Whose side, are you? Verity? Lowen? or Jeremy? (hide spoiler)]
