Your descriptions and insights into cheerleading in Dare Me inspired me to write about field hockey players and I've become a keen follower of the sport. Almost wish I could have been a player myself. Did you find you got so involved in the activities of your characters that you started wishing you were a cheerleader or a gymnast or a biochemist?

Megan Abbott Given my lack of athletic skills or a science-minded brain, not really, no! But whenever I do immerse myself in a world for a book, I never stop being interested in that world. I continue to follow cheer stories, gymnastics headlines, etc. I keep collecting new fascinations.
I hope you do write about field hockey players--I'd love to read about them!
