Where is Mrs. Levine? If she is nearby, I will whisper. I love your novel about Ernest Young. Sorry, I haven't fallen in love with Seattle. There are characters I will never forget. There is Madam Flora. What a horrible life of death and disease. I will never forget Fahn walking naked down the street with bleeding feet. I hate not being alive to visit the World Fairs. I've never seen the World's Largest Piano.

You know, we never really see what becomes of Mrs. Irvine. I hope she lived out her days in a positive way, but you never know. As far as Madam Flora, I didn't mention it in my Author's Note, but she was a real person. I had very little info at the time the book was written, but after the book came out I was approached by someone who knew a lot about her. He said I did her justice. Thanks for the question :)

We discussed "Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet" at my book club last night. In our discussion it came up about Samantha finding long lost Keiko through the Internet. In 1986 internet obviously was not what it is today and several members did not feel that part of the story was accurate time wise. Your view please since you are the writer. Would Samantha have been able to find Keiko so easily?

I worked at the men's prison in Deer Lodge providing mental health services. I graduated from GFHS in 1965, the largest graduating class in MT history as CMR opened the next year. My question is once my manuscript is complete shall I pursue publishing through an agent or self publish? Any opinions?

i really don't know how to frame my question... so I'll just tell you that I just finished reading Love and Other Consolation Prices, and WOW! It's hard to find such a book now days that is so enthralling!!! You did a wonderful job capturing the essence of each character. I guess I want to know how you made them come so alive?
