I watch old movies, mutter, and try not to kick myself. Then I let a few friends read and respond to my latest draft. Or I describe the plot thus far to anyone who'll listen. The hope is that in telling the story over and over, viable solutions will bubble to the surface or magically present themselves on little burgundy velvet idea pillows in my brain.
