Eva asked:

Can anyone tell me where this quote is :"“The broken heart. You think you will die, but you just keep living, day after day after terrible day.”" I read it on various platforms and it's attributed to Charles Dickens, but I've read the entire book and even did a ctrl-f on an epub version and it's nowhere to be found. Is it really in the book? And if not, how come everybody quotes it and attributes it to Miss Havisham?

Tom This quote does not appear in “Great Expectations” as so many memes and threads claim.
Loafeecat I believe this quote is from David Copperfield, but can't confirm. But this quote totally fits that narrative.
Annie Belyak I haven't found it either but on one website I saw it being mentioned in Great Expectations (Dover Thrift Editions) so maybe the edition matters? Also I discovered that there were two endings for the novel and I read the one where Estella didn't remarry but apparently in the other one she did and maybe the quote is from there?
