I've just finished this novel and loved it. But still I can't understand why Roy Straitley didn't say anything about Eric Scoones. I know he had no evidence, but it seems to me he lets Eric and his sins go too easily... At the end of the novel they seemed good friends again. How is it possible? Roy knew his so-called friend was guilty and moreover hew knew he let an innocent pay for his guilt.
