Do I have to read the Seven Realms series in order to read the Shattered Realms series?

Cinda Williams Chima No. I wrote Shattered Realms to stand alone, and I have a lot of readers who started with Flamecaster. That said, there are spoilers for Seven Realms in the Shattered Realms series because the events of the Seven Realms precede Shattered Realms.
