For both of them they have to learn to not think of their wants/desires first (me before you), but to think of the other.

But probably the strongest interpretation I see if as being Me Before you - As in me before you became part of my life. Lou brought good into Will's life and opened his eyes to a different outlook on life. And goodness knows that Will definitely opened Lou's eyes AND encouraged her to step outside of her comfort zone to new possibilities in her own life/future. (less)
