Mayra Rabadan asked Kasie West:

Mrs. West, I hope you're having a good day so far. I already love your books, so I want to learn a little more about you. Did you always want to become an author even as a young child? Did someone inspire you to become a writer? Did you love reading as a young child or not so much? What was your life like as a middle schooler like me? Growing up do you remember an event that changed your life in a big way?

Kasie West Hi! Thank you. I'm glad you like my books. I didn't always want to be a writer. I didn't know I liked to write until about 13ish years ago. When I was a kid I loved to read. I loved books so very much. When I was in middle school, I had a few close friends but mostly kept to myself. I was very shy in middle school. I don't remember any event that changed my life in a big way. When I was 8 we moved and that was hard to try to make new friends and be in a new place, but it didn't change my family.
