Question..is this book in any way reminiscent of The Handmaid's Tale? I immensely enjoyed reading it and have purchased Alias Grace, but am unsure of how to set the tone in my mind to get "ready" for the reading.

All of her books are so completely different from each other in style. So, I’d say that you shouldn’t expect Alias Grace to be too similar to Handmaid’s Tale. Alias Grace is much more a study of how difficult it is to see someone in the right light, because our vision is clouded by societal norms, our own biases, and the limits of our scientific understanding. It’s one of those reading experiences that makes the reader view the characters in many different ways before the book is done, sort of like the podcast, Serial. I liked it, and disagree with those who’ve said it’s too long.(less)
