I'm still reading it. It's HARD! I haven't had to think so much while reading in a long time. It's different from Ted Chiang, but in the same vein. But at least in this, the first few short stories I've read by Egan, the focus is on the details of HOW and WHAT happens to make defining a self difficult. Chiang seemed to tell the story from WHO and WHY, with more dialogue or monologue and less omniscience. Agree?
