Its really nice to get paid to do something you enjoy. It’s extra nice to discover someone likes something you’ve written. I don’t really expect either of those things when I publish a book, so if it happens it feels like Christmas. The process itself can also be fun. It is sometimes similar to reading. I don’t know what the characters are going to say until I type it, either. I might know that the characters plan to confront each other, but the words form as they are typed. Many of my characters share my sense of humor (wink) so they make me laugh.
