The only parts that may register some concern are stories that some immigrants tell (they've had pretty hard lives), and when Mia's mother is injured by one of the burglars. Romance wise, Jason tells Mia he has a crush on her, but nothing more happens. I think a ten year-old would definitely enjoy this book. (less)
