This book is great for teens. It can help the younger audience connect to their older counterparts, or parents. The book is eye opening, and in some instances, funny. The best part is that, despite the different styles and some of the darker moments in the story, the overall outcome is oddly hopeful. There aren't many graphic parts except for An-Mei Hsu's second chapter, where she gets the story about her mother becoming a concubine.
