Write. Read. Listen. You don't get any better if you don't write, get people to read your work, and take their feedback on board. It can be scary and pretty crushing when someone has a response to your writing that you don't like, but it's imperative that you hear what they have to say and consider it even if you ultimately decide you don't agree with it. Also read and watch as much as you can; you learn a lot from seeing how the writers you love pull off their tricks.
