Hi Martin, you do have any recommendations for an introduction on demography? Ideally something that overviews history and critical political economy, to help unpack "population bomb" and other mainstream notions.
"Too Many People?" by Ian Angus and Simon Butler is the best book on this. I also got a lot out of Fred Pearce's "People Quake" though it's not as politically sharp as the first one. If you can find it, there is an out of print book that gathers Marx and Engels' writing on Population Questions/Malthus called "Marx and Engels on the Population Bomb". All three of these are reviewed by me on my blog.
