How do you get inspired to write?

Robert Talbert Most of my inspiration to write happens as passing thoughts --- something I picked up while reading, an observation I make while teaching or grading, and so on. If a passing thought grabs my attention, I capture it on a sticky note or a Google Keep note, then come back to it in my weekly review. If the idea still resonates with me, I'll eventually write about it on my blog first. Over time, those accumulated ideas might grow into something larger, which is what happened with my first book.
