Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Erin Casey My co-creator AE Kellar and I have been developing this world together for several years. When we started working on an idea of a safe haven for parahumans, I fell in love with the concept. So I asked her if I could write my own book based on The Purple Door District, and she graciously agreed. I grew up around Chicago, which is why the story is based there. I'm also a bird mom of 7, so my babies were kind of my inspiration behind creating a werebird as the main character.
