Laurence E. Dahners:
Hello Laurence, Can I ask if you read any creative writing books or went to any classes before you published your first book. Also what would be your advice to an aspiring author?
Laurence E. Dahners
I've read parts of some books. The one I learned the most from was the "The Bestseller Code" by Archer and Junkers. It's a computerized analysis of the differences between successful and unsuccessful books. Most of the other writing books are just one person's opinion -- this one is actually data driven (I'm big on science).
For aspiring authors I'd just say to WRITE SOMETHING. Start with a short story (they don't sell, but they're good practice). Then give it a while and go back to read/rewrite it. If you send me a few pages (ldahners@gmail.com) I'll rewrite them the way I would have written them myself and make a few suggestions - which you may or may not find helpful.

I have just discovered your Ell Donsaii series through a recommendation in an Amazon review for a different author. I know reading like the consumption of any art is subjective but I really enjoyed the series (I read them strait through to #14). I noticed there were a few years between 13 & 14 and was wondering if you have plans on continuing the series? Regards from Australia

The Ell Donsaii series was fantastic (finished #18 Invasion this morning). Wonderful speculative science, and going so far (literally light-years) with just a few inventions! Will there be more, like maybe Aii2? Or are there other related series. As much fun as I've had with these I intend to read everything you've written, but wanted to launch to something related to ED if there is a series like that.

Hello Mr, Dahners, i like immensely your Ell series, and most of the other series for that matter. Regarding your upcoming book Invasion, i wanted to ask why did you chose Russia invasion Georgia and not United States invasion of Serbia, Iraq, Syria or Libya? I imagine that Ell intervention in those wars could have saved 10000X more civilians, women and children. Thank You in advance
