I think becaus…moreI read Song of Achilles some time ago and found it hard going to begin with. However, by the end, I enjoyed the retelling of the Iliad. I think because the book was written over such a long time the authors writing changed over time. The Silence of the Girls maintains a perfectly even pace throughout the novel. There are few moments where you feel the story is slow. In my opinion this is a better book. (less)
