Mark Lawrence:
Hey Mark, I was wondering about the summaries of earlier events of the series that you write in your books. Is this something difficult to do, or tedious or for some other reason unpleasant? I'm trying to understand why so few other authors do that. It's such a simple, yet great thing. I cannot express how lost I sometimes feel when an author demands that I remember everything in detail after a year (or 3 or 5)...
Mark Lawrence
No, it's not difficult. I think it's more difficult, however, from the author's side of the page to imagine your readers so disconnected from the story that you have been living day to day, that they need the reminder.
Also, addressing the reader outside the story is breaking the 4th wall and that's generally discouraged.
Finally, publishing is a very traditional industry that is slow to embrace change, no matter how good the idea. Which means each author who does this will have to push for it to happen rather than being asked to do it.

So dear Mr. Mark ''Awesome'' Lawrence, what's it going to be after the Book of the Ancestor, what have you got cooking in that genius brain of yours? I would't be surprised that you have another finished trilogy under your bed ready to wow us yet again. Are you ever going to be an adept of writing lengthier novels or has this become a trend, short but full of energy novels?

Hello, So I've read all of your trilogies and the Girl and the Stars, and now I have a hole to fill. I'm picky with my reading I found out, and it's your (poetic) prose that hooks me and how it can describe these little truths of life. Sometimes you remind me of David Mitchell, another author with a love for language. Could you direct me to authors you think I would like?
