Goodreads asked Eve L. Mitchell:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Eve L. Mitchell I genuinely don't know! I was writing another book, a completely different genre and I was about 28,000 words in and thought, 'I don't like this', it needs to be more...and then I was struggling with how 'more' it needed. Ariella, just kind of popped up in my head as a character that wanted to tell her story in a completely different way to what I was writing.
I started dabbling in writing her story and then I drifted back to my original piece - at 36,000 words I halted, it was no longer talking to me. Well it was, it had just developed in my head to something else, so I knew I needed to rework all of it.
To get my mind off it, I crept back to Ariella as she was quite insistent I give her my full attention - so I did - and she wouldn't let me go until I was finished!
