Cathaleen Sherlock
Cathaleen Sherlock asked Martha Hall Kelly:

When people asked me what my favorite books were recently I had to say Lilac Girls and Nightengale. I loved the way you wrote your book about the surgeries with no big details. I also loved the surprise at the end with the heiress who helped all those women. What a beautiful story!!! I wondered how she found all the women who needed the surgery? What a huge blessing she was to all of them.

Martha Hall Kelly I appreciate the good PR, Cathaleen and thank you for the lovely thoughts--I love hearing what readers like. To answer your question, Caroline found the women who needed surgery when her French friend Genevieve, the niece of General DeGaulle told her about the rabbits. They had been prisoners in Ravensbruck together.
