Hey Phil! Love your books! I have a question about the Black Gate series. I understand the concept of the different Planes, and that people ascend/descend based on their actions in their previous life, but what I'm unclear on is how the Planes are physically connected. Are they only accessible via gates? Is there a physical connection? Are they islands, or are there other land-masses on this world? Thanks!

Great question, Trent! So, some of the planes are physically connected, such the island of Agerastos being across the sea from Ennoia, and with Aletheia floating above Ennoia's land mass. Others are reachable only by portal, such as Bythos, Nous, and Sige.
In my mind, they are all part of the same planet, but imagine New York, Sydney, and South Africa being connected by Portal; to the traveler on foot they might as well be on different planes of existence. Hope that makes sense!
