Tough to answer... does a book being disturbing mean it is not good? I would say definitely worth the read but only if you or the person reading it is mature enough to handle it. I read this book 8 years ago when I was 13 and I still find myself thinking about it every so often (like when I looked it up here). Not a light read but I would say it is a 'good' book.
