Kaleidoscope Hearts is one of my favorite books and two years later I am still wishing to have one heart that Estelle makes. So I am wondering what inspired you for it to be kaleidoscope hearts?

I was putting up my Christmas tree when I was thinking about the story and one of my ornaments that was made of different colored glass fell and broke. That fragility of the ornament and the state of my life at the time as I swept it up was the inspiration behind her kaleidoscope hearts. However, the search for a real kaleidoscope heart is still underway. If you find one, let me know ;)
