Goodreads asked N.C. Reed:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

N.C. Reed Never throw anything away, no matter how much you don't like it at the time. Save it. It may be something that fits perfectly with something else you do down the road.

If you are feeling poorly about your ability, reread something you wrote years before. You will be able to see how much you've improved since then when you compare old material with new.

Write, no matter what it is. If you have an idea, write it down. Plot, conversation, action, whatever it is, write it. Even if you never use it, any exercise such as that will help you to improve.
