I think it's a really fun book with the same whimsy from the other books, but with a faster pace and not so much detail. The Hobbit is significantly easier to read than LOTR. I'm in 11th grade and I read the Hobbit a few years ago and really liked it. Meanwhile I still haven't made it through Two Towers (the second LOTR book) even though I started the trilogy in middle school. (less)
