Edwin Wong In the play, none of the characters are what they seem to be. Othello seems like a man for all seasons. He is not. Iago seems honest. He is not. Desdemona seems dishonest. She is not. Emilia seems bawdy. She is not. And so on. In the gulf between seeming and being, it is hard to know how to act and who to trust. There can only be a probability that one is correct. The play, accordingly, investigates the question of moral certainty, asking: "How high a degree of probability must one attain to have a basis for action?" Mouna love: which is the love of Othello and Desdemona, both, though racially different, age and even social class, fell in love and married each other. Their pure love is what makes them special in all the terms . in fact, his love for her is not a sexual attraction but more of spiritual devotion, he refers to her as ' gentle Desdemona'.

Jealousy: jealousy is the reason behind Othello's downfall, even though was hard to be shaken, his jealousy transformed him into a blind. !he failed to recognize the purity of his wife and his insecurities, even though he seemed at first self-confident, led him to unconsciously kill his love.

* Racism: Since Othello is a black man in a white society, definitely he is been judged upon his color not his deeds. We mainly recognize this theme with Iago when he refers to him as a black rum and with Brabantio as well.

Actually, those are the main ones, though my interpretation is not enough to perfectly describe the play. However, there are other ones, such men's superiority over women, as well as women's place in patriarchal society.
