It's not a coming out story and there's nothing explicit between the main characters. However, the relationship in itself is pretty ambiguous, ranging from attraction and obsession to jealousy and a very deep loyalty despite all their differences. It's a bond that definitely comes off as a bit queer, like an intense romantic friendship between women at the beginning of the XX century. At its core, it's a reflection on the self and the other, but it can be interpreted any way you want.(less)
