Yep you can read these as stand alone stories. They refer to the other characters but it doesn't change the storyline!

You might get spoiled a little bit if you read out of order. But if you don't plan on reading the first one go for it.

I did not read the first book, but IMO this book can 100% be read as a standalone. The main characters from the previous book are barely mentioned in Fumbled. However I suspect that the supporting characters are in both books. Same football team.
