Hi again, again. I recently re-read By Your Side(3rd time), and I found that I could relate to Autumn sooo much. I was wondering how you decide to make her have anxiety? What was your inspiration? Also, I kept re-reading your acknowledgments because it was so funny (yes Im that weird person actually read them). lol.

Kasie West I'm so glad you found Autumn relatable. It's nice to read about characters who make us feel not so alone, right? One of my kids has anxiety and I really wanted to portray that in a book and I felt this book, this character, was the right one to do it with. I thought I could highlight the struggle that comes with anxiety well in this scenario. It let me show it in an extreme situation, but also in every day life and the not-so-extreme scenarios.
