Goodreads asked Rachael Wright:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Rachael Wright Read as much and as widely as you can. It's almost as if by osmosis that good sentences and thrilling stories seep into your writing being. My grandmother read the Bible to me all the time as a child and a lot of my ideas about poetry and sentence structure come from that, and C.S. Lewis. Reading before writing makes you thirsty to write your own.
